HOUSE RULES:
SHORTAGES: NO SHORTAGES WILL BE ALLOWED. IF YOU COME TO BOWL, BE EXPECTED TO PAY FOR YOUR BOWLING. THIS INCLUDES THE PRE-PAYS THAT ARE COLLECTED LATER IN THE SEASON. IF YOU BOWL AND DO NOT PAY, YOUR SCORES WILL BE REMOVED AND A ZERO WILL BE ENTERED. IF A BOWLER IS PAST DUE ON LEAGUE FEES FOR 2 WEEKS. THEY WILL BE EXPECTED TO PAY ON THE 3RD WEEK OR THEIR TEAM WILL FORFEIT THEIR WINS.
CHECKS AND CASH BACK ON CREDIT CARDS: CONCOURSE WILL NO LONGER ACCEPT CHECKS AND THERE WILL BE NO “CASH BACK” GIVEN ON CREDIT CARDS. CREDIT CARDS RUN FOR LEAGUE FEES ONLY OR CASH WILL BE ACCEPTED. CHECKS WILL BE ACCEPTED FOR FULL MONTHLY LEAGUE FEE PAYMENTS.
OUTSIDE FOOD AND DRINK: NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR DRINK WILL BE ALLOWED TO BE BROUGHT INTO THE CONCOURSE ENTERTAINMENT CENTER. THERE IS A ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY ON ALCOHOL. IF YOU GET CAUGHT BRINGING IN ALCOHOL, YOU WILL BE WALKED OUT OF THE CONCOURSE, FORFEIT ALL YOUR LEAGUE MONIES; I.E., ROOM, POINTS, AWARDS, ETC., AND NOT ALLOWED BACK AT THE CONCOURSE.
EQUIPMENT: Any bowler deliberately kicking or hitting the ball return, bowling from the settee area, intentionally dropping the ball on the approach, etc., will lose all earned pin count for the entire frame and previous frame associated count. On the second offense, the bowler must leave the lanes. Any protests on this rule will be decided by the league Board of Directors. One warning will be given before enforcement.
SANCTION: This league will be sanctioned by the rules of USBC. Sanction fees can be paid by check made out to MARILYN KOSSKY. Sanction fees are $25.00 for both men and women. Sanction fees must be paid before the completion of the third week in this league or proof of payment of dues in another league must be provided. This rule also applies to substitutes.
SCHEDULE: This league will bowl each Wednesday at 6:30 PM; practice from 6:15 PM until 6:30 PM, beginning on Wednesday , OCTOBER 16, 2019, and ending on APRIL 15, 2020, with sweeps on APRIL 18, 2020, at 12:00 NOON, at THE SOUTH POINT CASINO BOWLING CENTER in LAS VEGAS, NV. There will be a total of 24 weeks including sweeps. There will be two position rounds, (1) position round on JANUARY 22, 2020, AND (2) MARCH 25, 2020. THERE WILL BE THREE WEEKS OF PLAYOFF ROUNDS, BEGINNING APRIL 1, 2020. THERE WILL FOUR BYES; ONE ON NOVEMBER 27, 2019, ONE ON DECEMBER 18, 2019, ONE ON DECEMBER 25, 2019, AND ONE ON JANUARY 1, 2020.
WITH ADEQUATE PRIOR NOTIFICATION, (AT LEAST 2 WEEKS), THE CONCOURSE RESERVES THE RIGHT TO EXTEND THE LEAGUE ADDITIONAL WEEKS IF IT IS NECESSARY TO CANCEL A REGULARLY SCHEDULED BOWLING NIGHT.
MEMBERSHIP: This league will consist of 12 teams with a playing strength of 5 members per team. Team rosters will be limited to 5 members of any combination of men and/or women. EMERGENCIES WILL BE ADDRESSED ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS. Any change in team members must be reported to the league secretary before bowling.
POINT SYSTEM: The point system will be based on 4 points per night, one point for each of the three games bowled and one point for total pins.
LEGAL LINE-UP: By the start of League Bowling, 6:30 PM, the legal line up shall consist of three (3) regular bowlers present and ready to bowl. At no time may a team bowl with a split roster. If a team has a vacancy, a legal lineup will consist of two (2) regular members. Substitutes do NOT count toward a legal lineup.
SCHEDULE START TIME: Teams must start bowling at the scheduled start time. If you cannot complete your games within the regular 3 hours, The Concourse reserves the right to move the teams to a pair of lanes not scheduled within the limits of the incoming league.
LATE BOWLERS: Late bowlers may start bowling at any time and will be permitted to make up frames provided they arrive before the opposing team has started the 4th frame of any game.
VACANCY SCORE: When a team does not have enough players on its current roster for a full lineup, the vacancy score will be 140 with 72 HANDICAP.
AVERAGE: Averages will be established with the first 3-game series bowled.
HANDICAP: Handicap shall be 90% of 220. All fractions are dropped when computing.
POSITION NIGHT: NO MAKEUPS WILL BE ALLOWED FOR POSITION NIGHTS ON JANUARY 22, 2020 AND MARCH 25, 2020. PRE-BOWLS WILL BE ALLOWED.
ABSENT BOWLER: The absentee score shall be the current average less 10 pins of the absent bowler, with the handicap to be figured from actual average of the absent bowler. The absent bowler’s average must consist of at least 3 games established in this league; otherwise use the vacancy score. When using an absentee score, the score may only be used three (3) times in succession; then before it can be used again, the regular bowler must return and bowl a complete 3 game series or the team must obtain a substitute or use a vacancy score.
SUBSTITUTES: Subs may be roving and may be used by any team, but shall not compete on more than one team in the same league in the regularly scheduled games each week. A $5.00 SUB FEE IS CHARGED FOR ALL SUBS. THE FEE IS DEPOSITED INTO THE PRIZE FUND. Team Captains must report subs to the secretary before bowling. Subs must have a valid sanction card, valid receipt or the sub must purchase a sanction card. Subs do not count toward a legal line-up. Games bowled as a sub will not be eligible for prize money and league awards. Anyone may substitute. No new subs during the last three (3) weeks of bowling, beginning on APRIL 1, 2020. Emergency replacement must be approved by the Board of Directors. SUBSTITUTES WILL BE ALLOWED ON POSITION NIGHTS PROVIDED THEY HAVE 12 GAMES BOWLED IN THIS LEAGUE. SUBS MUST BE WITHIN 20 PINS (+/-) OF THE BOWLER THEY ARE REPLACING DURING SWEEPS AND POSITION ROUNDS.
PACERS WILL NOT BE PERMITTED.
POSTPONEMENTS: Requests for postponements must be made with ONE OF THE THREE LEAGUE OFFICERS OR PAT SCHEERER, AT LEAST 48 HOURS IN ADVANCE. Their contact numbers are listed at the top of these rules and on the weekly League sheets. They will, in turn, notify the other league officers and the opposing team captain, if possible, and the opposing team shall have the choice of bowling on the regularly scheduled date or postponing and bowling with the opposing team. All postponements must be made up within 15 DAYS OR ASAP, based on Concourse lane availability, of the scheduled match, or before any position round (whichever comes first. IF NO CONTACT, (TELEPHONE CALL OR IN PERSON), IS MADE BY THE ABSENT TEAM, IT WILL BE AN AUTOMATIC FORFEIT FOR ALL THREE GAMES. In the case of an emergency, the Board of Directors shall determine what shall be sufficient cause for a postponement. ALL MAKE—UPS AND PRE-BOWLS MUST BE RESERVED BY THE BOWLING CENTER. CALL THE BOWLING CENTER, PETER DE MORE, 714-666-2695, x238, TO RESERVE A MAKE-UP TIME. NO WALK-INS WILL BE ALLOWED TO BOWL.
UNOPPOSED BOWLING: Shall be allowed without a League Officer present at the time of the unopposed bowling. In order to have scores bowled unopposed count for league and house awards, A PRINT-OUT ACQUIRED FROM THE FRONT DESK MUST ACCOMPANY THE RECAP SHEET. NO USBC AWARDS WILL BE GRANTED FOR SCORES BOWLED UNOPPOSED. No make-ups or pre-bowls will be scheduled on Friday or Saturday nights after 6:00 PM. Reservations must be made with the bowling center; PETER DEMORE, (714) 666-2695, X238.
STRIKE FRAME: $1.00 will be collected by the Vice President from everyone who does not bowl a strike in the 1st frame of the 2nd game. These funds are added to your prize fund.
ODD NUMBER OF TEAMS: In the event that the league has an uneven number of teams, or in the case of a forfeit situation, the win points must still be earned. In order to win the individual match points, bowlers must bowl at least his/her average less ten (10) pins. In order to win the team points, the team must bowl at least the team average, less fifty (50) pins. Points not won by the individual and/or team, will be recorded as unearned points.
TIES AND PLAY-OFFS: In case of a tie for first place, or where a team trophy is involved (last place excluded), a one-game roll-off will determine winner. Every team in playoffs pays $5.00 per bowler. Winner will get money and trophies. Subs are allowed in a play-off and handicap will not be refigured.
RESIGNATIONS: If a member has cause to resign from a team in a league during the bowling season, 2 weeks notice shall be given to the team captain and the league secretary. The resigning member shall pay weekly league fees, including bowling, prize fund, and any additional fees, for 2 weeks if the team is not filled. NOTE: If the resigning member or the team captain secures a new permanent member before the resigning member has left the team, then the 2 weeks fees are to be refunded immediately. The payment in advance of the last 2 weeks of the league’s schedule does not meet this requirement. Refund of this money must be worked out with the team captain and the incoming member. ANY INDIVIDUAL OR TEAM WITHDRAWING FROM THE LEAGUE DURING THE PLAYING SEASON OR WHO IS DISMISSED FROM THE LEAGUE FOR SUFFICIENT CAUSE, SHALL FORFEIT ANY AWARDS AND MONEY PAID INTO THE LEAGUE.
LEAGUE AWARDS: To qualify for individual league awards, a bowler must have bowled in 2/3 of the scheduled games. A team or individual can win only one award with scratch taking precedence over handicap, and series taking precedence over game. If a sub later becomes a regular member of the league, games bowled while as a sub shall be included in the required number of games, but scores bowled while bowling as a sub shall not qualify for individual awards. The Concourse will provide 5 First and 5 Last place awards. The league will provide the following CASH awards:

LEAGUE FUNDS: Weekly league fees will be $29.00 per bowler, of which $16.00 will cover the cost of bowling and center services, with the balance to be deposited into the league treasury and distributed as shown in the financial statement. The Concourse will bank league funds.
ANY MONIES EARNED BY A TEAM WITH A “VACANT” BOWLER WILL BE AWARDED THE PERCENTAGE FOR THE ACTUAL NUMBER OF BOWLERS ON THE TEAM ONLY. NO MONIES WILL BE PROVIDED FOR THE “VACANT” SPOT.
PREPAYMENT OF THE SECRETARY FEE, TROPHY FEE, AND COMPUTER FEE ($28) WILL BE DUE BY THE 8TH WEEK OF BOWLING – DECEMBER 11, 2019.
PRE-PAYMENT OF THE FINAL WEEK: Pre-payment of the last WEEK (APRIL 15, 2020) WILL BE DUE BY THE 6TH WEEK OF BOWLING – NOVEMBER 20, 2019.
ALL PAY ENVELOPES MUST BE TURNED IN AT THE FRONT DESK BEFORE THE END OF THE FIRST GAME.
LAST THREE WEEKS: No NEW substitutes allowed during the last three weeks of league play (STARTING MARCH 25, 2020).
ROOMS IN LAS VEGAS: Every league member will receive one night’s lodging at THE SOUTH POINT HOTEL & CASINO in LAS VEGAS. If you will be rooming with another person who is NOT a member of the league, the second night’s room fee of $125.00 including tax will be due no later than MARCH 18, 2020. Room rate is $125.00 including tax. If you plan to stay with the group, reservations will be accepted for TWO (2) nights ONLY. If you want to stay only one night in Las Vegas, you will receive a room refund and will be responsible for making your own arrangements for lodging. Room rates for Early Arrival, Thursday, APRIL 16, 2020, and Stay-Over on Sunday, APRIL 19, 2020, will be $74.00 incl. tax.
SWEEPSTAKES: Sweepers will be bowled on APRIL 18, 2020 AT 12:00 NOON in LAS VEGAS, NV at The SOUTH POINT HOTEL & CASINO BOWLING CENTER. Sweeps shall be a guaranteed team, doubles and singles events, which will be paid from the prize fund. Total pins bowled plus handicap will determine winners. Lane position will be determined by draw on position night, APRIL 15, 2020. Permanent members must have a minimum of 21 games bowled in this league to be eligible to bowl in the sweeps events. ESTABLISHED SUBS WILL BE ALLOWED IN SWEEPSTAKES BUT WILL QUALIFY FOR TEAM EVENT ONLY. SUBS MUST HAVE THE MINIMUM OF 12 GAMES BOWLED IN THIS LEAGUE AND BE WITHIN 20 (+/-1) TO QUALIFY.
ANY RULES NOT COVERED ABOVE WILL BE REFERRED TO THE USBC JOINT RULE BOOK FOR CLARIFICATION.
